About
Welcome to Sir Cricket's Fish & Chips, a beloved gem nestled in Orleans, Massachusetts, at 38 MA-6A. This quaint eatery has earned a reputation as a must-visit destination for seafood enthusiasts and casual diners alike. With its charming atmosphere and friendly service, Sir Cricket's encapsulates the essence of small-town dining, making it a favorite among locals and tourists from near and far.
The menu shines with a delightful variety of seafood, but it's the classic fish and chips that steals the spotlight. Patrons rave about the authentic flavor and generously portioned servings at prices that won't break the bank, especially compared to other establishments on Cape Cod. Many, like Catherine Martin, highlight the quick service, even during busy evenings, making it an ideal spot for a casual night out.
Not to be missed is the fish chowder, a standout dish that has garnered glowing reviews from families like that of Abby Walton. Thinner yet equally satisfying as clam chowder, it's a recipe that locals swear is the best they've encountered on the Cape. Another crowd favorite is the lobster roll, praised for its fresh ingredients and generous filling. As noted by Ed Tubridy, the combinations of rich flavors and quality seafood are truly commendable.
But it doesn’t stop there. Seafood lovers will be thrilled with the selection of fried oysters and whole belly clams, both spotlighted as some of the best on the Cape by enthusiasts like Scarlet Lamphier. Each dish is prepared fresh and served hot, providing that comforting seaside experience that everyone craves. With a clean atmosphere and the convenience of a self-serve station for condiments and drinks, dining here is as effortless as it is enjoyable.
In summary, Sir Cricket's Fish & Chips stands out not just for its delicious offerings, but also for its welcoming environment and fair pricing, even in a popular tourist area. It’s a place where you can savor the taste of Cape Cod without the fuss. Whether you're stopping in for a quick bite or settling down for a leisurely meal, this seafood haven is sure to satisfy your cravings. So, what are you waiting for? Make sure to drop by and enjoy a plate of their famous fish and chips today!
“ I came here on a Wednesday night with my boyfriend. The place was busy with locals, but service was quick and tables inside freed up quickly. It had an authentic, small town charm and I really enjoyed the fish and chips, which were very fairly priced (especially comparing to other restaurants in Cape Cod). I would definitely recommend this place! ”
“ Visiting from out of town, this restaurant was recommended for good seafood and generous portions. They weren’t wrong. I had a delicious lobster roll and a nice order of fries. It was excellent. Highly recommended. ”
“ Everything I have had here is good. The fish chowder is really great. Thinner than clam chowder, but similar style. My entire family liked the fish chowder the best of any chowder we had on the cape. And we try chowder everywhere. I only wish they had a larger seating area. ”
“ For me the best clam chowder in Cape Cod! The lobster roll is delicious, is haven’t try anything else in the menu. The place is small, nothing fancy, but worth visiting. ”
“ Efficient, fast, and tasty! Very casual take out or dine in place to fill your seafood cravings! Fish & Chips were very good! The fish and fries were fried to perfection and portion was great for the price. ”
“ This is essentially a slightly (and I mean slightly) elevated clam shack with about 6 small tables inside and one picnic table outside. The menu covers all the basic from fish and chips to fried clams. The clam chowder was tasty with mostly potatoes and some clams. It’s on the thicker side for consistency which I prefer. The fried clams were generous and the coating was light and crispy. ”
“ Sir Cricket’s is a seafood lover’s dream come true!! Everything we have ever gotten here over the years has been delicious, fresh and hot! The place is always clean, has a help yourself station for napkins, utensils, cocktail, tartar sauce and spicy Aioli, lemon slices, mayo and ice water. Orders taken, number given and food comes out quickly, either takeout or dine in with 5 table seatings inside and a couple outside. The fried oysters were some of the BEST I had on the Cape and the whole belly clams were outstanding too!! Good Clam chowder was not too thick, just the right consistency with plenty of clams, not just potatoes with a few clams and good flavor too! Also noted that their prices have not gone up since last year, as many places have! Thank you Sir Crickets for your continued delicious seafood!!!!! ”
